Finding love – Erina Yokobe

To my mind, I prefer looking for love in real life, not online. That is because there are some risks in dating applications. I got the information on TV, but application users often do some conversations with a person they matched with, before they meet each other in person. In other words, they don’t know the actual looks of the person until they get together. Although they see each other’s profile while chatting, it was doubtful. People tend to edit their photos to make a good first impression. The problem is the real appearance might be different from the photos. Besides, it’s also possible that even their gender could be different. I think it’s too scary for me to use dating application, due to this doubtfulness. To sum up, I’d like to find my partner by myself, despite the fact that people can find a partner more efficiently by using apps.

    I agree with you and Hanako that nowadays we can reach so many editing apps so easily. As a result this also leads to a lot of negative effects such as someone’s capture a photo of other person’s identity and use it to be themselves. This is very scary.

      Thank you for your reply! I don't think using filters to take photos is a bad thing, but I do think it's not good when the photo looks too different from reality.

      Thank you for your reply! I learned that word for the first time. But there is a word with the same meaning in Japanese, that is "narisumashi"(なりすまし).

  I disagree the result of personal test which I am assessed as innovator. I don’t see myself as imaginative, sociable and sympathetic. I like to talking, but I rarely start conversations myself. I also disagree that I assessed as creative, I think creative person act out of line, but I behave as a normal people and have not professionality anything. I only agree with that I am assessed as rebellious. I used to don’t follow what teacher says in school. I did what I wanted to do freely.

  I totally agree with this result. I think one of my strengths is being conscientious and mature. I always care about other people’s feelings and try to see things from different perspectives. This result also says that I tend to avoid conflict, which is true because I don’t like trouble or arguments with others. I try to avoid them as much as possible, even if it means enduring something unpleasant. However, I know that avoiding conflict is not always a good thing and sometimes doesn’t lead to productive outcomes.  If I had to disagree with one point, it would be that others take advantage of me. I’ve never felt that way. If I realized that someone was trying to take advantage of me, I would make sure to express my opinion clearly.
